For more than 50 years, AMLE has been a trusted professional learning resource for middle level educators. While the middle school model looks different in each school, we know that it is possible in every school. AMLE professional development is rooted in decades of research on what works for young adolescents, with each engagement tailored to support the school or district’s unique needs. It’s quite literally our mission to provide schools with affordable and high quality professional learning, no matter where you are in your Successful Middle School journey.
From supporting the design of a new master schedule, to empowering your teachers with engaging teaching strategies, our team can build from our most popular professional development workshops, or co-design a program from scratch. AMLE workshops are facilitated by our expert staff and professional development cadre, ensuring your engagement is led by an educator who truly understands the young adolescents you teach.
The Successful Middle School
All of AMLE’s professional development is grounded in our landmark position paper on middle grades best practice, now in its 5th edition. AMLE provides a range of robust professional development resources, workshops and events on these topics, grouped by the three overarching categories of The Successful Middle School.

AMLE’s Professional Development Cadre
Our in-house team, led by AMLE Director of Professional Development Jennifer Rose, will collaborate with you to design and execute a professional development engagement tailored to your school or district’s needs and conducted over your identified time frame (one hour, one day, one week, or longer) either virtually or in person. We believe professional learning should be long term, job embedded, and relevant. Our team will continue to partner with you to check in on your progress after your event and provide ongoing resources and recommendations.
AMLE Staff members work alongside a range of vetted, world-class faculty who have made AMLE’s philosophy and mission part of their core work. AMLE can provide recommendations based on your needs, or schools/districts can request their preferred speaker or speakers.
