Dos and Don’ts of Building Relationships with Young Adolescents: Advice from Older Adolescents

Forming genuine relationships with today’s changing young adolescents can be challenging even for seasoned middle grades educators. Leveraging their unique position as “near-peers” to young adolescents, preservice teacher candidates from Western Carolina University share unique—and sometimes entertaining—insights about building supportive relationships with middle grades students.
