Weekly wellness to support early career teacher success

Teachers’ understanding of their own SEL competencies not only results in a classroom climate with attributes necessary to maximize learning (caring, supportive, consistent), but also promotes adaptive teacher responses when stressful interactions with students occur (Jennings et al., 2017). Thus, teacher professional development may not only improve outcomes for specific SEL programs being implemented, but may also improve general classroom climate and reduce teacher stress leading to burnout
