Ethical Debate: Big Questions, Diverse Thoughts

Presenter: Wendy Maskin

Explore a new approach to debate that encourages adolescents to delve into nuance, listen to many differing points of view, and work with others. While other approaches isolate discussions into extremes of “yes” or “no”, this approach incorporates multiple opinions, asking students to navigate with their opponents and teammates using skills that are central to the developmental stages of adolescence. Successful in 12:1, ICT, General Education, and high-rigor settings, see why it works.
